
Rifugio Biella, also known as Seekofel Hütte, is a historic alpine refuge located at the foot of Croda del Becco, amidst the magnificent scenery of the Dolomites, recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage site. Founded in 1907, the refuge is an ideal starting point for exploring the Alta Via n. 1 and the numerous trails that traverse the Ampezzo Natural Park and the neighboring parks of Sennes, Fanes, and Braies.
With a capacity of 42 beds, Rifugio Biella offers high-altitude hospitality, paying attention to every detail to ensure an unforgettable experience. Guests can enjoy local traditional dishes, along with reinterpretations of Roman cuisine, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available.
During the winter closure period, a bivouac located 100 meters from the refuge is always open for hikers.
How to Reach the Refuge:
- From Rif. Malga Ra Stua, 1668 m, 2.45-3 hours T: on a dirt road (trail 6) to Cianpo de Crósc, Val Salata, and before Rif. Sènes, under Còl de ra Scióres, right to the refuge.
- From Rif. Malga Ra Stua, 1668 m, 2.30-2.45 hours E: on a dirt road (trail 6) to Cianpo de Crósc, right with trail 26 to Crépe de Socròda, Mónte de Fòses, Lago Gran de Fòses, and to the refuge.
- From the refuges of Munt de Sènes, 2050/60 m, 0.45-1 hour T: with trail 6 and then on a dirt road (trail 6-23) to Cianpo Ros.
- From Lake Braies, 1489 m, 3-3.30 hours E: with trail 1 to Forcella Sora Forno, 2388, and shortly downhill to the refuge.
