The Settimo Alpini Refuge: An Alpinistic Jewel in the Heart of the Bellunesi Dolomites
The Settimo Alpini Refuge, inaugurated in 1951, is located in the Bellunesi Dolomites National Park, in a particularly grand position on a steep grassy slope, between two native branches of the Ardo stream, at the center of an amphitheater of superb walls, at the foot of the south face of the Schiara.
The Pis Pilon basin, in the center of which the refuge stands, is one of the most magnificent and wild alpine environments of the Bellunesi Dolomites.
The Settimo Alpini Refuge and the Severino Lussato bivouac hut constitute the main alpine base for the Schiara group and serve excellently for all major alpine ascents and for tourist-alpine crossings of the Schiara, Pelf, and the Pale del Balcòn.
